From the recording Troubadour Is Me

Lyrics

‘Troubadour Is Me’ Words & Music by Nick Baker CP 2009 NABIn this life of mine when I was just 19. I started to write songs that sounded oh so clean.  But in those times of writing songs I’ve traveled with my friends, All the places I have gone the memories never end. From the airplanes to the subways, the paths to the van. I’ve sung a lot of songs in every place I can. In my heart I’ve always known Next time I’ll do it all again alone.Every song that I sing and every place that I go. The memory of it comes right back to me.  Every melody that plays and every word that I write I hope someday that you all come to see. In time you’ll find the Troubadour is me.After all the things I’ve done and songs that I have sung. I still keep saying to myself there are lots more things to come. It’s more than just the places that I’ve been on the East coast. It’s all the other places in between I like the most. From New York to California and every other state. No matter where I go each place for me is great. So if you wonder who I am or what I am inside? Remember I’m that kind of man who’ll always be your guide.Repeat ChorusAnd as I fall asleep at night I’ll dream of what was then, in these dreams I hope that I can do it once again. To those who have inspired me for many years to come, many songs will come to me and I’ll write them one by one. Every song that I sing and every place that I go  the memory of it comes right back to me.Every melody that plays and every word that I write.  I hope someday you all come to see.And if you look inside your mind. As clear as it can be.  In time you’ll find the Troubadour is me.
